Here you can find an overview of selected scientific conferences in the field of agricultural and food economics. They can take place annually, biannually or triannually.

 

2-7 August 2024

32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE): Transformation Towards Sustainable Agri-Food Systems

ICAE  is take place  in New Delhi, India and will address urgent questions on how to make agri-food food systems more sustainable with a particular focus on the important role of agricultural economists in facing these interdisciplinary challenges. All submissions will be due on 15 January 2024 via the online submission system, which will be opened in August 2023. Submissions for the IAAE 2024 Carl K. Eicher Award for the best dissertation on agricultural economics problems in Africa are also invited. Updates will be available here.

17th International Conference of the Hellenic Association of Agricultural Economists

The ETAGRO 2023 held in Thessaloniki has the topic  “The agri-food system facing complex challenges: Responses towards economic, social, environmental sustainability." All interested scholars are invited to contribute with up-to-date approaches on the meeting. Young scholars and highly motivated students are strongly encouraged to participate, presenting their most recent theoretical and empirical research. Deadline for extended abstracts: 13.4.2023. Tropentag 2023: Competing pathways for equitable food systems transformation: trade-offs and synergies

Tropentag 2023 invites a debate on competing pathways for food systems transformation, drawing from diverse perspectives, disciplines and methodologies. It will be organised as a hybrid conference by Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Recearch (ZALF), Germany, in cooperation with the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany. This means that, we will have an in-person conference, but that all oral presentation sessions will be streamed live via our conference app. For more info, please click here.

GEWISOLA: Sustainable food systems and land use change

Integrative research directions that deal with the interactions of agricultural, forestry and other land use systems as well as with entire food systems (including all activities from production to consumption) are currently on the rise. Intensive engagement of agricultural and food sciences with a broad range of societal stakeholders is also becoming more important. Thus, the event addresses the analysis of land use and food change from a systems perspective. More information incl. the call for papers is available here.

XVII EAAE Congress: Agri-food systems in a changing world: Connecting science and society

The congress will be held in Rennes (France). It aims at fostering the debate over effective policies, innovative strategies, investment priorities and future-oriented educational programs to change the world through agri-food system transformations. More information available here.

ICA CCR Conference 2023: Innovating in cooperative governance. Governing cooperative innovation

ICA CCR Conference is hosted by the Centre of Expertise for Cooperative Entrepreneurship (KCO KU Leuven) The conference will bring together academia, researchers, and cooperative practitioners from all over the world, as well as policy-makers at the EU and international level, to discuss the latest research and policy developments in the area of cooperative governance. Institutions and Sustainable Transformation of Bioeconomy Value Chains (ICABR 2023)
The 27th Annual Conference of ICABR (which will be organized together with IICA in Buenos Aires, Argentina)  will explore the state of sustainable transitions in the bioeconomy as a driver of new dynamics in institutional development. Colleagues are encouraged to submit abstracts of 200 words, for posters, papers or proposals for organized sessions (3-4 presenters) by logging into or creating an account on ConfTool: https://www.conftool.com/icabr2023/. The 14th European Conference on Precision Agriculture

Organised under the auspices of the International Society of Precision Agriculture (ISPA), by the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences of the University of Bologna, the ECPA sessions will present Precision Agriculture from the viewpoint of scientists, crop consultants, advisors, extension personnel, agronomists, producers, and other practitioners. 5th International Rehovot Workshop: Agriculture and Economic Development

The Department of Environmental Economics and Management of the Hebrew University and the Center for Agricultural Economic Research will host an international workshop on "Agriculture and Economic Development" in memory of Professor Yair Mundlak. The Vereinigung für ökologische Wirtschaftsforschung  together with the thematic cluster "Life in Transformation: Food, Resources and Minds" of HU Berlin is organizing the VÖW seminar „Nachhaltige Landnutzung: Zukunftsfähige Landnutzungssysteme – Transformationsprozesse und Zielvorstellungen"  at the Environmental Education Center Berlin from May 24 - 27, 2023. Ninth International Conference on Agricultural Statistics (ICAS IX): Harnessing Data to Inform an Equitable and Sustainable Agri-Food Systems Transformation

ICAS IX will be held over three days in May 2023 in Washington, DC, and will be organized by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the World Bank, in coordination with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and under the aegis of the Committee on Agricultural Statistics of the ISI. EEGA Annual Conference 2023 – Beyond the collapse: Globalization projects in Eastern Europe before and after 2022

At the two-day congress, scholars from all over the world will present their research on globalization projects in and from Eastern Europe in both panel sessions and round table discussions. The call for contributions closes on April 11, 2023. The in-person event will take place in cooperation with EEGA’s main partner, the Research Centre Global Dynamics (ReCentGlobe) at Leipzig University, in Leipzig.
