"Improving Understanding of the Distribution of Livestock Systems and Their Diverse Environmental Footprint" is the title of the guest talk by Dr. Pedro Fernandez. He is currently a fellow at the Conservation Biogeography Lab at Humboldt University in Berlin, where he researches the interactions between land use and sustainability. His work contributes to a better understanding of livestock farming as a land-use system and improves the assessment of environmental and production metrics on larger scales. In addition, he is a co-founder of Terratio, a company that develops software solutions to optimize the balance between agricultural productivity and environmental impact in pasture-based livestock systems.
